A schedule defends from chaos and whim. It is a net for catching days.

– Annie Dillard

It was yesterday I began my new schedule. This is what happened when I asked my therapist about my need to make meaning for all that has happened in my life this year. She looked at me and basically said, “What you need Jen is a schedule. You need to not think anymore. Instead you need to just do what is next – on your schedule.”

This was not the heady introspective trip I was looking for. Instead she was asking that I settle into my embodied existence and let life lead me. Apparently a fair amount of research has been done on our need for routines. I know it is vital for kids, but apparently its also good for us as well.
So yesterday I began to settle in to a new routine.
