I have been tripping a lot lately. And have the bruises to prove it. We pay a lot of lip service to the concept of balance, but the hard reality of actually working to achieve it? A totally different story, at least for me. You know its bad when the universe (and your mom) asks you to really really pay attention to balance in your life by dare I say tripping you up a bit.
For me, the lessons are so damn literal.
Here is the thing. The ground I have stood on for my whole life is shifting. I think it is perfectly appropriate that I need to go through establishing a new equilibrium. Our mothers ground us. They are the string the ties us back to our very beginnings. To lose a mother is to lose our bearings.
I am paying more attention to the feeling of my feet on the ground.
And I’m wearing flats.
